It is still very hard to find good therapists that are covered by insurance. And obviously people dealing with gender dysphoria are subject to a disproportionate amount of harassment and bullying which could provoke an inappropriate response.

@ocdtrekkie@georgetakei Quite right, I would have mentioned them, but I do struggle with the 500-character limit. The Aberdeen shooter identified as trans, as did the Denver and Nashville shooters. The Colorado Springs shooter identified as non-binary.

@ocdtrekkie@georgetakei Several of these trans shootings occurred before any such legislation was passed, this is just the latest. And she was certainly mentally ill for some time before becoming trans, and deciding to enter a school and shoot dead children as a means of suicide. But the failing goes far deeper than that, these events are becoming more common, therefore we must be doing something as a society, directly or indirectly, to encourage such attacks.

@georgetakei Seeing as the shooter was trans, is this a failure of gun control or a failure of mental health support? And I am guessing this is the part where all discussion on this topic dies, as the shooter doesn't fit the demographic usually associated with shootings; although, perhaps not as true as it was with the mass shootings of late.

Like, they literally discussed actively ensuring to move conversations applicable to litigation holds to places with history off regularly to avoid being caught violating the law. @eevee The most maddening thing for me, is there‘s no good way to find the last commit a file existed. Because you can’t select it after it‘s deleted, but if you jump back to a commit you know it exists, you only see commits prior to that point.

@shanselman @atomicpoet I do. I want people to be able to get any content they‘d expect to find through other social networks through the fediverse. That includes PR.
A big part of ensuring we replace old social is being able to meet everyone’s needs.
@bensaufley @paul There‘s been a lot of loud drama about defederating mastodon.social, but I haven’t seen anyone of substantial size or following that‘s actually done it.
I think it’s rumored much more than done. There were a lot of rumors it was unmoderated or only moderated by Gargron as well, and that has been widely debunked as well.
