“I'm so embarrassed. I wish everybody else was dead.”

In-reply-to » @rdlmda But I am gad you at least have figured out how to have a feed description and avatar, that's always nice 👍

@prologic@twtxt.net well, it isn’t rocket science, is it? 😅 Yet, without using the hashes and starting to follow people, it is very, very rudimentary. I know, I know, there were a couple of years during which people lived just fine without those. Yet, once you get used to certain things, there is no going back.

In-reply-to » Weird. My timestamps are all being shown (on https://twtxt.net and https://darch.dk/timeline) one hour ahead of what I expected. Am I manually writing my timestamps wrong? Are the clients interpreting something I'm not aware of? Let me write this one on the "Z" timezone to try to debug it.

@rdlmda@rdlmda.me right, timestamps are RFC3339, so something like this: 2024-09-29T13:30:00Z

In-reply-to » Someone on #twtxt or #yarn.social on IRC told me to use a client that supports extensions and replies. Uhh... Client? I'm writing my microblogging by hand! (Hides in a very weird mix of pride and shame)

@rdlmda@rdlmda.me writing it by hand is good, but without checking your server logs to see if someone is following your feed, and interacting with them, you are simply tossing bottles into the sea. That, of course, isn’t a bad thing per se, if it is the intent. :-)

In-reply-to » I took advantage of the beautiful 14°C sunshine and decided to have a long lunch break: https://lyse.isobeef.org/waldspaziergang-2026-02-25/ When there was no wind, the thin jacket was actually too warm.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org oh wow! That 10, with ice stuck in it. Those flowers rock! They remind me of “Stardust” (movie).

We woke up with 3C here. Yesterday we had 33C. Yeah, crazy.

@kiwu@twtxt.net I am trying to read our Information Security Office “mind” to grasp what they want. So far they seem to want to get logs from our BIG-IP F5 load balancers into Azure Sentinel, but the Telemetry Streaming plugin normally used for it is on maintenance mode, with deprecations happening on the F5 and Microsoft side soonish. So, yeah… “fun”. Oh, and they want it on production by tomorrow. LOLz!

In-reply-to » New library alert => Last night, I published twtxt-lib, a new isomorphic TypeScript library for parsing and interacting with twtxt.txt files. Check out the demo at https://twtxt-lib.itsericwoodward.com/!

@prologic@twtxt.net so…

An isomorphic TypeScript library is a codebase, written in TypeScript, that can run in multiple JavaScript environments, most commonly both the web browser (client-side) and a server (like Node.js). The core idea is to share the exact same code across the frontend and backend, avoiding duplication and improving efficiency.

In-reply-to » It's raining and raining and raining and raining. I had hoped my mate canceled the hike today. But he didn't. He showed up. So, off we went to the Staufeneck Castle Ruin after having a lunch first. The rain drizzling on the umbrella was very nice and I was very glad that he dragged me outside.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org “Silo de Pisa” 😂. And 32, oh my! Loving rain, just as loving rice, is life. Rain is life, rice is life. I am glad you enjoyed it for you, and me! I would have hiked with you, under the rain, not a single complaint. After all, it’s only water!

In-reply-to » Been missing you, friends! I hope life's been treating you well. What did I miss?

@aelaraji@aelaraji.com hey, hey! I saw you tinkering with ActivityPub, so I know you were well.

Glad to have you back here! No much has happened on twtxt.net-world. @prologic@twtxt.net is quite busy with large language models, and seeking further independence through capitalistic ways. @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org continues dazzling us with his clicks, @movq@www.uninformativ.de brings us interesting music, videos to see, and a sprinkle of home made computing here and there, and me… well, I continue bending (or trying to) things! 😂

In-reply-to » @lyse I just watched this. And whilst it's very good and insightful, good history of MySQL and how Martin helped built a good solid Open Source + Commercial model, I'm not seeing the "why people don’t wanna work at your company" bit? What am I missing? 🤔 In any case, he does talk to great length on the importance of Culture and the insane notion of "centrlaised office working", which I 100% agree with.

@prologic@twtxt.net he didn’t. The embedded video show the speaker he was referencing to, on the German video.

I completely redesigned and rewrite the salty-chat TUI client as well, which now includes proper notifications and a background agent that keeps running so you never miss any messages. It all "just works"™ and I'm quite happy with the outcome! 🤩 #saltyim #revamp

@prologic@twtxt.net I will give it a try when it works flawlessly. ☺️ Then I will need people to interact with, otherwise it’s a “mute” case. 🤭

@movq@www.uninformativ.de if they haven’t, I would recommend a “subtle” nudge. You know, like leaving an advert flier at their door for a “Basic English (including swearing words!) for Dummies” book, or something like that. :-D :-P

In-reply-to » What a beautiful, beautiful 0°C Sunday arvo and evening! The weather forecast delayed the snow by the minute. An hour or so after it finally started very, very lightly, I headed off for the woods to check out the lake again. Unfortunately, with the fresh snow layer, the crazy wild surface texture of the ice sheet wasn't visible anymore. But it brought some other nice views and photo opportunities.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org totally adore the eerie look of some of them. Very well done!

@movq@www.uninformativ.de my mum, who hand washed clothes for many, many years, would stare at you, incredulously, and tell you, “have fun with that!”. Hand washing a ton of clothes, including sheets, etc., is a royal, glorious, pain! Now drying it, when you live on the land of eternal sunshine, is a different matter.
