@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org this reminds me of when I’d started learning C. This threw me off so bad, and it took me an unreasonable time to wrap my head around the difference between the precisions of floats and doubles. 🥲
@prologic@twtxt.net Sorry I haven’t seen your question before! and to answer your question, no, it wasn’t hard at all. it’s a simple go build …etc. as instructed + scp twtd to remote + made a systemd service for it to (re)start automatically under a dedicated twtd user for lols. + poked at the Caddyfile to reverse-proxy a couple of paths and called it a day.
Too much info?
@david@daiwei.me @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org How about Augmented Ignorance ? it packs a better punch, doesn’t it? 😅
@GabesArcade@raw.githubusercontent.com those are getting harder and harder to come by these says. Everything is smart this, smart that and Artificial Ignorance powered now.
@prologic@twtxt.net yes! ~24 hrs ago!
@david@daiwei.me @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Oh, I wish it was for work. I’d usually abstain from going if don’t get to choose either the location, or the company. But, both? HEeeeeLL No!! 😆
@david@daiwei.me We could say the same about the England - France game, right? 😆
+1 here. Did as soon as I got the alert 🤙
@kiwu@twtxt.net hi back at you!
The first thing that came out of my mouth this morning was: “I don’t feel like I want to go to the beach. Sue me!”
Well, yes! It IS one of those days.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org That explains a lot! Thank you.
@prologic@twtxt.net @bender@twtxt.net is it normal that twtxtapp’s <tab> (white space) between the timestamps and posts look a bit shorter than the ones from jenny? just noticed that and thought maybe it’s someting you’d want to know.
The Rectangle highlights the whitespaces from Jenny and the Ellipse is over the ones from twtxtapp.
@prologic@twtxt.net Le Me! both twtd and twtxt.app 👌
2027-07-07T18:05:37+00:00 but is always showing up as having been just posted now on twtd 🤔
@itsericwoodward@itsericwoodward.com what the hell!!? I have no idea how that happened. 😆 Thank you!
@bender@twtxt.net I just couldn’t resist the temptation, now that my usal setup has started acting funny. But I’ll keep that in mind
What’s up with this reply of mine? it was posted 2027-07-07T18:05:37+00:00 but is always showing up as having been just posted now on twtd 🤔
Hello Twtd!
I don’t know why, but either Jenny’s behaving different after the last update, or I Fucked up something and I have no Idea how to fix it.
Symptoms:
- I don’t have copies of my New Posts in my Maildir after posting them (as in I don’t see them in neomutt’s inbox).
- Nor fetch or fetch context (if they get replied to) seem to fech them auto-magically.
- I had to do a full whipe (~/Maildir/twtxt and ~/.cache/jenny) in order to get them fetched back.
Hmmm… 🤔 How about now?
Hmmm… Something ain’t right. What did I break this time?
@arne@uplegger.eu I’ve tried Matrix before, it was all good and dandy until servers started getting spammed with stuff no sane human being should see (if you know what I men). So, I took down my server and never looked back.
@prologic@twtxt.net My bad. It has been a while since the last time I poked around my mystery box, and I must have Effed up something yesterday. Is it fixed now? (Also, I’ve noticed that access to my avatar is, somehow, still denied. Still poking at it. 🤦)
Anyone using XMPP? I’ve been hearing a lot about how it is the OG messaging protocol. That G00gle Talk used to use it as a back-end, that FB messanger and w_hatsapp use some modified version of it or something; And that setting up a server (or even using a public one) would be a better alternative to the aforementioned apps, so I did. Now the question is: “Where the Fu__ are my video calls at!!? 🤣” … The protocol supports videoconferencing and I’m yet to find a decent Desktop/Mobile client that implements it. I wish I knew enough Code-Fu to contribute/help implement some, somewhere.
@bender@twtxt.net Haha! Thanks. The broken avatar was a Me and my Hotlinking policy problem, It should be fixed by now. And I Freaking love the twtxt.app by the way. Cheers!
@rdlmda@rdlmda.me THIS! … has been my daily mantra, for at least 8 months; and I’m still waiting for some Magic™ to happen.
@kiwu@twtxt.net Wooop Wooop! 🥳 Congratulations!!
yey! I remembered how to prune my Jenny/Neomutt Twtxt feed! (I only keep 6 months worth of Twts) Now, I need to figure out how to set up a macro for that.
@bender@twtxt.net yeah, I like oats and raisins with my yogourt too, but not for dessert.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Pretty! … Also, please tell me I’m not the only one seeing Patrick (from Sponge Bob) in 01.jpg and The eye of Horus (pyramid) in 02.jpg xD
@kiwu@twtxt.net Sorry, I have two functional brain cells left in my brain, and I’m not sure if you’re asking What am I putting in it, as in a) when making some? Or as in b) when consuming/serving it?
a) 1L milk (0.5L cold + 0.5L warm @ ~45 °C), a bit of store bought yogourt for the bacteria, sugar and vanilla extract.
b) Most of the time, as is. But I’ve tried once: adding in a couple of diced strawberries that have been sitting in granulated sugar for a couple of minutes, until they’d released enough syrup, and I think I might’ve caught a new addiction on top of the original one.
What do you put in yours?
New Something Something Unlocked: “Making Yogurt”. (Still not sure if it’s a new skill or an addiction)
@bender@twtxt.net Sweet! So glad that Twtxt still lives, and that everyone’s been keeping busy. My main computer is broken, It’ll take me some time to setup jenny on the R-pi and try to catch-up.
Have a blessed week-end everyone!
Been missing you, friends! I hope life’s been treating you well. What did I miss?
New year new… year; And That’s about it. No M(ent)alware upgrade needed this time.
FFS! Finally got a better Internet service 🥲
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I swear, Her vlog is all I needed to cleanse my soul! Full of pure human interactions (whenever there is any), No BS No pretending and No Nonsense. Again, Thank you!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org It was too late when I read the “Addictive” warning… 😆 Thanks for sharing this!
@prologic@twtxt.net I dunno if it’s me or the bridge, but my pleroma instance didn’t pull any of your notes + a follow request got stuck as Request Sent
@prologic@twtxt.net Well, you can associate your identity to the apex domain with a bit of Webfinger wizardry, but I don’t. Mine are always attached to the sub-domains. I find it easier to migrate between instances that way without risking borking federation.
@shinyoukai@neko.laidback.moe yeah, that’s the only reason why I use sub-domains when trying anything federated (I believe Matrix has the same problem), in case things didn’t go as planned I can just migrate and take it down.
@prologic@twtxt.net looks like a tiny green apple to me 😅 … but this site says maybe a Guava
Gootosocial to a Pleroma one. While GTS is kinda cute (lightweight and easy to manage) of a software, the inability to fetch/scroll through people's past toots when visiting a profile or having access to a federated timeline and a proper search functionality ...etc felt like handicap for the past N months.
@bender@twtxt.net yeah, I’ve been reading through the documentation last night and it felt overwhelming for a minute… +1 point goes to GTS’s docs. but hey, I’ll be taking the easy route: podman-compose up -d they provide both a container image and an example compose file in a separate git repo but I’m wondering why that is not mentioned anywhere in the docs, (unless it is and I haven’t seen it yet)
I’m contemplating the idea of switching my activity pub instance from Gootosocial to a Pleroma one. While GTS is kinda cute (lightweight and easy to manage) of a software, the inability to fetch/scroll through people’s past toots when visiting a profile or having access to a federated timeline and a proper search functionality …etc felt like handicap for the past N months.
@kiwu@twtxt.net Not sure if you can find a second hand Canon G7X for cheap (it doesn’t have to be a Mark II or Mark III), you might love it. But watch a couple of reviews just to make sure it is/does what you need it for.
@prologic@twtxt.net I couldn’t find the exact blog post from before, one that used redirection directives in its nginx config. but I found [this one ](https://melkat.blog/p/unsafe-pricing#:~:text=Something%20else%20I’ve%20been%20doing%20this%20year,%20fine.) mentioning a similar process but done differently.
@prologic@twtxt.net Sweeet! 🥳 enjoy your holiday!
Finally!! I can go to sleep!
@shinyoukai@neko.laidback.moe HAHAHAHAHAH! Hell yeah!!
@prologic@twtxt.net yeah, I’ve had even requested access to it in order to give it a try and report whatever I can but, Sorry I never got to do any of it. 2025 slam dunked a massive pile of 💩 over my life (hence the disappearance, trying to avoid talking about any of it) and I’m just starting to recover (or at least trying to).
@prologic@twtxt.net The periodic blacklists updates will be done automatically in the background, as for the different processing mechanisms (rules, collections of rules, remediation …etc) you just install/add the pre-made ones from the hub and call it a day, they’ll get periodic updates when needed. But you could easily create and add your own in case you want to block or white-list a specific behavior
