How Long Does It Take to Fix Linux Kernel Bugs?
An anonymous reader shared this report from It’s FOSS:

In-reply-to » @movq That's cool! I also like the name of your library. :-) I assume you made the thing load quickly, didn't you?

I assume you made the thing load quickly, didn’t you?

That’s the problem with Python. If you have a couple of files to import, it will take time.

I want this to be reasonably fast on my old Intel NUC from 2016 (Celeron N3050 @ 1.60GHz) and I already notice that the program startup takes about 95 ms (or 125 ms when there are no .pyc files yet). That’s still fine, but it shows that I’ll have to be careful and keep this thing very small …

Python 3.14 will bring lazy imports, maybe that can help in some cases.

Coisas sobre a Greve Geral que ainda nem toda a gente sabe:

  1. A greve não é só para funcionários públicos, é para todos;

  2. Aderir à greve é tão simples como não ir trabalhar: não é preciso mais nada, nem avisar a chefia nem nada. Tudo é automático;

  3. A única “repercussão negativa” de fazer greve é que o trabalhador não recebe a remuneração desse dia;

  4. Fazer greve não é uma “coisa da política”, é uma defesa dos direitos dos trabalhadores, que estão em causa neste pacote laboral (fica mais fácil ser despedido, mesmo sem razão; horas de trabalho de graça; etc.);

  5. A greve é mesmo para todos: não é preciso um contrato de trabalho, e nem é preciso ser trabalhador - reformados, estudantes, todos podem fazer greve. Uma forma de o fazer é minimizando dar trabalho aos outros, a não ser em casos de urgência.

[ANN] FCMP++ Hard Fork Planning: Discussion Welcomed

Discussion welcomed for discussion of possible future rule to take place upon FCMP++ hard fork activation. This rule would retroactively ignore the unlock_time field of transactions past some future block height. This would make the migration to FCMP++ tree building easier.
