@misskatie@twtpub.com Awesome!!! Welcome đ€
@eldersnake@we.loveprivacy.club Ahh awesome! No worries mate! đ
Awesome! đ
@prologic@twtxt.net Well, 15 shows the site. On the left, I had a roll mat on a tarp. I borrowed some âNVA tarpsâ from the scouts for this trip. The scouts got them from the National Peopleâs Army, the German Democratic Republicâs armed forces after Germany was reunited. Theyâre 1.75m x 1.75m in size and weigh 1.3kg, quite heavy, but super awesome. One tarp on the bottom, another one to cover up the clothes, shoes and sleeping bag in order to protect against the thaw. Finally, a mosquito net over all that, hung from a rope between two trees.
My mate just used a hammock with a mozzie net on the right hand side. The third tarp served as the luxurious bedside carpet. :-)
We sat on my second tarp to chill and enjoy the sunset and surroundings. It was nice to notice birds etc. die down. It took a really long time for the last light to fade away. Since we have a very high risk of forest fires, we of course couldnât have a camp fire. But after all the exhaustion, I didnât even miss it for one second.
Since we had dinner at home before leaving, all we brought were two lye rolls, two grain rolls, two brezels, some sausage and chocolate biscuits for breakfast. From the 2.5l of water, I ended up using 2l. Itâs always good to have a little extra, despite the unnecessary weight. We had brekkie a few kilometers further on a bench in the shade. The first bench was already in direct sun.
Our camp site was maybe 30m to the side and a few meters down of a summit path hidden behind some trees and bushes. We were quite lucky, the other side of the hill got quite a bit of a breeze at night. We could hear the leaved treetops making much more noise behind us.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Yes, these kind of dogs should really be strictly forbidden!
Itâs not illegal if you own the forest or ask the owner. :-)
@david@daiwei.me Yeah, no clue. But my mate said the dog is disqualified from such adventures in the future. :-)
The temps were supposed to hit 14°C just before sunrise. Since we didnât bring a thermometer, I canât tell for sure. I was rather hot in my sleeping bag, so I had to pull out my arms every now and then. My mateâs sleeping bag was a little lighter and, unfortunately, the zipper jammed up. Since it didnât close all the way, it felt quite a bit cold I was told in the morning. When we got up at 6ish (we said, we donât care about time at all), it was probably already 16°C if not more. I brought a jumper, but a t-shirt was already nice enough to wear. The jumper just served as my pillow. The mercury raised by the minute then.
Yeah, I circled the spot with a biro to keep an eye on it. Until now, thereâs absolutely nothing to see. Looks like I got lucky.
@kiwu@twtxt.net awesome, thatâs what I like to hear! One more day, and it gets even better: weekend!

So nice of the very few folks that have discovered mbox to say such nice things about my little experimental project and free service offering đ
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Definitely silly in places (and the back-alley fistfight is AWESOME).
But it also wouldnât surprise me to find out that people like Bezzos, Musk, and Zuckerberg are actually ghoulish aliens here to keep us into a state of reduced consciousness while they extract what they can. âTheir third-world.â

@kiwu@twtxt.net doing awesome, how about ya? We are having some coolish days, which are super rare, so I am enjoying them plenty!
It is always awesome to have a few minutes to converse, at least once I month. I will not miss one, adding it to my calendar. I mean, if we were neighbours you (or wife) would probably have to kick me out of your house, so itâs good I am really far, and a once a month call suffices. đ€Ł
We had some gray soup with the occasional fine rain with strong wind gusts. Despite the bad forecast we took the train to Geislingen/Steige and strolled up to the Helfenstein castle ruin. All the colorful leaves were so beautiful, it didnât matter that the sun was behind thick layers of clouds.
We then continued to the Ădenturm (lit. boring tower). By then the wind had picked up by quite a bit, just as the weatherman predicted. We were very positively surprised that the Swabian Jura Association had opened up the tower. Between May and October, the tower is typically only manned on Sundays and holidays between 10 and 17 oâclock. But yesterday was Saturday and no holiday. The lovely lady up there told us that theyâre currently experimenting with opening up on Saturday, too, because there are some highly motivated members responsible for the tower.
We were the very first visitors on that day. Last Sunday, when the weather lived up to the weekdayâs name, they counted 128 people up in the tower. Very impressive.
The wind gusts were howling around the tower. Luckily, there are glass windows. So, it was quite pleasant up in the tower room. Chatting with the tower guard for a while, we got even luckier: the sun came out! That was really awesome. The photos donât do justice. As always, it looked way more stunning in person.
Thanks to all the volunteers who make it possible to enjoy the view from the thirty odd meters up there. That certainly made our day!
After signing the guestbook we climbed down the staircase and returned to the station and headed back. The train even arrived on time. What a great little trip!

I went on a short stroll in the woods and came across two great spotted woodpeckers. They were busy with their courtship display, I reckon, so it took them a while to notice me and escape into thicker parts out of sight. That was really awesome. There are a lot of apples and sloes now, looking really good. The cam issues still persist, though, I wish the photos were sharper. Also, I got the error that the function wheel was not adjusted correctly and alledgedly pointed between two options numerous times. We finally got a caliper donated for this yearâs scout flea market. We didnât sell it, but kept it ourselves. It will come in very handy every now and then in our material store. For example, I missed having a caliper in the past when sorting our random assortment of screws or measuring the depth of a hole. Itâs a wee bit banged up (probably happened during transport) and didnât come with a box, but the latter is now solved.
The lid and bottom came from a wardrobe back panel I got from a mate, the sides were rocket sticks in their former lives. I found some scrap of felt in our material store and some hinges laying around in the drawers of my own workshop.
Unfortunately, the table saw teared up the plywood veneer fibres badly, even though I put tape around to prevent that. This is the first time it didnât work. At. All. To cover that up, I painted the box with some decades old tinting paint (price tag says Deutsche Mark, not Euro!) from my paint cabinet. Itâs awesome, works absolutely perfectly and doesnât smell the slightest bit. I reckon, this caliper box is plenty good enough for occasional use at our scout material store.

@kat@yarn.girlonthemoon.xyz thats awesome. my kids still love playing it.
@bender@twtxt.net Whatâs awesome about it btw? I use WireGuard pretty heavily here. And my entire family also use it to keep a VPN connection back to our home network
@prologic@twtxt.net Tailscale is awesome! I run Headscale; it replaced my vanilla WireGuard install.
On QRs, as long as they work (and they are quite resilient), it doesnât matter. Their design, and colours, will be based on theme in which they are included. They are getting used more now in the US. They are king on East Asia. They are awesome.
