Monal IM: Funding campaign: Mac Mini for faster Monal development
Update 15.02.2022 Thank you very much. We reached our target of 1000€ within less than a week. We will order our new Mac mini tonight. Stay tuned for a big development blog post.
Dear Monal Community,
as you know the Monal project is developed by volunteers and has no general funding so far.
To improve the development situation it would be of advantage to have a physical build server for the developers.

Peter Saint-Andre: Cultivating Curiosity
In my drive to hold fewer opinions (or at least hold them less strongly), for a while I tried to cultivate a healthy skepticism about things I believe - for instance, by attempting to question one opinion every week. This didn’t work, at least for me, because it felt too negative. Instead, now I’m working to cultivate curiosity. Here are a few thoughts on the process…. ⌘ Read more

@movq@www.uninformativ.de OK, to be more specific: it does to the point of adding twts to the correct file.
I’ve not checked actual file rotation. With max_twts_per_rotation set to 100 and me posting ~ once a week first roatation will take place in two years ;-)

Important notes for LARBS users
Two notes for LARBS users:
- Xorg went through some updates last week that changed how it calculates dots-per-inch (DPI) on screens. There’s a chance that you might update and find your font extra large or small. If so, you can just manually add
xrandr --dpi 96to the beginning of yourxprofileto set the DPI to the typical 96 (or whatever number looks best).
- I have no switched new installs of LARBS from using Pulseaudio to Pipewire as an … ⌘ Read more

@fab@foobucket.xyz No need to apologize 🙂️ Speaking of being active I’ve gotten absolutely nothing done on my twtxt project this week. I think I need to rethink a bit to find a fun next step.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I hear you. I am very selective of who to follow. I mean, I would drop @prologic@twtxt.net, which is the noisiest one, but he is the boss, and if I want to interact–even once or twice a week–I must follow him. 🤣
Is it Friday yet? I feel this week is as slow as a drying paint on wall, and it is only Tuesday! I know I should not want time to pass quick, as that get us closer to the inevitable, but geez!

I’m getting back into running after a couple of weeks downtime. My left knee is not what it used to be, and I’ve decided to ease back into it. Mentally I’ve accepted that I’ll probably never run 10km in 37:42 again, but emotionally I fear getting slower… As if a slight decline, while saving myself from injuries, would be a defeat.
