[ANN] A faster alternative to blockchain consensus

Instead of confirmation coming from outside of transactions, it would be better for it to come from within them. Ideally, every output would be tied to the input that spends it, so it can’t be double-spent. But, this can’t be done before the input exists, so the output must be tied to an intermediary, which gets tied to the input after it’s created.

Prosodical Thoughts: New server, new sponsor
It shouldn’t surprise you, but here we have an obsession for self-hosting. We
fought off many requests to migrate our hosting to Github (even before it was
cool to hate Github - Prosody and Github were both founded in the same year!).

As a result, we self-host our XMPP service (of course), our website, our code
repos, our issue tracker, package repository and our CI and build system.

This is not always easy - our project has always been a rather informal

[ANN] [PROPOSAL] Add optional is_gift and txs parameter and create a new gift standard

There is currently no easy and safe standard way to gift Monero to people around you. It is possible to gift a wallet containing money. However, malicious people can use this to trick people into using the wallet they gifted them and steal the money after the recipient puts in more money, so this is unacceptable.

In-reply-to » New post (mostly follow-up on the previous with a few new points) on the twtxt v2 discussion. http://a.9srv.net/b/2024-10-08

@2024-10-08T19:36:38-07:00@a.9srv.net Thanks for the followup. I agrees with most of it - especially:

Please nobody suggest sticking the content type in more metadata. 🙄

Yes, URL can be considered ugly, but they work and are understandable by both humans and machines. And its trivial for any client to hide the URLs used as reference in replies/treading.

Webfinger can be an add-on to help lookup people, and it can be made independent of the nick by just serving the same json regardless of the nick as people do with static sites and a as I implemented it on darch.dk (wf endpoint). Try RANDOMSTRING@darch.dk on http://darch.dk/wf-lookup.php (wf lookup) or RANDOMSTRING@garrido.io on https://webfinger.net
