Hot take: the web never ‘belonged to the people’ – the moment a centralized client-server model with hostnames embedded in the addressed was decided upon, the seeds of Facebook & Google were sown.

You know a company is in trouble when they have to take a full page advertisement on several major newspapers in the U.S., and the U.K., with an apology from their chief. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg did just that. ⌘ Read more

Rather than sending advertisements into outer space, it would be really nice if we made it so that Facebook and Twitter would run reasonably on six month old mid-market desktop computers. These JS timeouts are annoying.
Bad idea of the day: Adversarial social graphs. 99% similar to your actual graph, but friending one guy makes Facebook think you’re actually Al Gore.

Almost over two years ago I left Facebook. A few months ago I left LinkedIn and Twitter. Two weeks ago I left Google+. I also left Groupon (I don’t even know why I ever sign up for that junk!). Next is to leave here. I guess this is my way to pursuit happiness.
