实质上的逻辑是：
入关前，后金/清朝联合科尔沁、奈曼等蒙古部落，对不服从清廷管理的内喀尔喀巴林部、扎鲁特部、察哈尔部（在此期间，察哈尔攻灭了蒙古右翼）进行了多次征伐，打服了整个漠南蒙古，并兼任卫拉特（北疆）、喀尔喀（外蒙）、和硕特（藏区）的宗主。
入关的情况是：皇太极、多尔衮多方拉拢明朝辽东军中高层将领，将孔有德、耿仲明的登莱新军、尚可喜、沈志祥的东江军、祖大寿系的辽东军（以李成梁家丁部队为底子）、吴三桂的关宁团练融入八旗，并以这些辽东军和八旗满蒙军队为主力入关，先攻灭大顺、大西政权，随后逐一攻灭南明政权。
