The cyberpunk aesthetic, moreso than mere future noir, is the future as seen through the eyes of Sir Clive Sinclair: sleek but broken, and dominated by posturing. It’s a beveled black hermetically-sealed shell cracked open to fix manufacturing & design flaws, alligator-clipped wire spilling out, but no fix will prevent it from frying your brain if you look at it funny.
the political spectrum is a horseshoe crab: ancient, ugly, full of blue blood that contains poorly-understood enzymes that might cure some kinds of cancer, and frequently leaving its molted shells along the north atlantic shoreline of north america
@kas@enotty.dk Switching shells is the reason that I started deploying scripts in /usr/local/bin rather than defining aliases. :D Tested #bash #ksh #fish and #zsh and the latter it is now for years already.
GitHub - geophile/osh: Osh (Object SHell) is a command-line and API toolkit combining cluster access, database access, and data slicing and dicing. Sort of like awk and cssh morsels wrapped up in a Python crust. https://github.com/geophile/osh

Shell Scripts Matter https://dev.to/thiht/shell-scripts-matter
One thing i really miss in posix shell is local. It’s so easy to pollute your namespace. Current solution is to use more pipes and subshells.
the egg grows within its mother until there’s nothing left but skin and feathers stretched taut over the shell, then hatches from the bird
I imagine that the shell rotates slowly as it grows, so the older a part of the city, the more distinctly lopsided houses and streets are
a snail so old and large that a city has grown into the shell, houses cling to it, countless pulleys handle traffic, a castle sits on top
one sunbird rides the plasma winds to Earth, enters an orbit, replaces the sun that is now a slowly cooling shell receding in the distance
Wiser now, we didn’t crack that egg that never hatched, only punctured its shell. Peering in, we saw a lone bird roaming an unfamiliar sky.
biomimetic snail shell architecture that caters to introverts through ever smaller and quieter rooms
An extremely long earthworm was hidden under the rock, curled in a way as to look like a brain. Around it, a protective shell was hardening.
@allgebrah According to the dictionary, that should’ve been shell, not house. Well, we call them “Schneckenhaus” (snail house)
The robots took over and we had to blend in: Reverse androids, roboids, metal shells housing tiny bits of human. Oh how we haunted them.
The sun clucks happily as her children throw off their shells and unintentionally incinerates most of what is left of humanity.
@david And there are no problems with shell quoting! And especially with history expansion when using an exclamation mark.
Cockroaches so large that we use them as tanks, hunt them for their shells and build houses out of them.
Apparently this thing — by which I mean “my shell” — has trouble with exclamation marks inside double quotes. Phooey.

Finding little to talk about
The main problem with Jekyll is that is out of the way. Unlike other weblog engines, which are managed via the web, I come to the shell to type and process this. Perhaps I need to research a better workflow?
I am finding little to talk about lately, and that is keeping things here rather quiet. It is not only that I do not have much to write, but that when the desire arrives it gets lost in translation, mostly because of the way I have decided to handle this little space of mi … ⌘ Read more

While browsing the “Orlando Sentinel Express” I found the section Restaurant Penalties, which I never saw before –well, it is true that I do not browse the Sentinel Express everyday.
From that section, two restaurant violations caught my eye:
