What’s a good amount of time for caching twtxt files? Looks like @freemor@freemor.homelinux.net has it set to 15 minutes.
The rasterman filter is the only one in netfilters that tries to cache all of stdin, & I don’t know enough perl to fix it.
it seemed like the static twtfile setup i used for ‘moon’ fucked with twtxt caching…

Bad idea of the day: A browser extension that links everything in your browser cache with a fake file whose name is a hash of that item, serves those fake files over bittorrent, and, for all URLs whose expiration date is in the future, keeps a distributed table of URL to hash & attempts to fetch from bittorrent before from http

@kas@enotty.dk my bad - I’ve been developing a twtxt client, hence the frequent requests. I’m switching it over to use a fs cache for testing so I’m not hitting the twtxt files so much.
@kdave@kdave.github.io When you get timeouts, do all feeds timeout? Can you check if you can reproduce it when you flush your name server cache?
Does cat /proc/fs/xfs/stat | awk ‘/^ig/{print $1}’ == 0 really mean that i’m not using the inode cache?

@cloudfront is really not great at caching large pages. My miss ratio is ~75% for 1-yo static site with 2 yrs expire for pages.

Facebook and OpenID caching
When I first read that Facebook was going to allow OpenID logins, I was happy. OpenID means less usernames and passwords to remember. So I merrily went to setup mine, just to find out that their support was exclusively for OpenID version 2.0, and my implementation was 1.1. No graceful fall back, Facebook demands OpenID 2.0. So I decided it was time for me to upgrade my implementation for one capable to handle 1.1 and 2.0.
