Video: Deep dive into Go’s build cache ⌘ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVqaFLev19Y
a microblogging creative coding platform like dwitter, but for sound. users would be encouraged to remix, the output of one persons code would become the input of the new code. only text would be stored on the server, with audio rendered client-side. to save on time, there could be caches of frozen audio for remixes. #halfbakedideas

Checking if caching works…
What’s a good amount of time for caching twtxt files? Looks like @freemor@freemor.homelinux.net has it set to 15 minutes.
The rasterman filter is the only one in netfilters that tries to cache all of stdin, & I don’t know enough perl to fix it.
it seemed like the static twtfile setup i used for ‘moon’ fucked with twtxt caching…
Fastly supports NixOS
We are happy to announce that we have moved our binary cache to Fastly. Fastly
is a big supporter of open source projects and now NixOS is one of them! Fastly provides us with CDN capability,
which previously was running on AWS CloudFront. Big thanks go to Fastly, in particular Tom Denniston and Elaine
Greenberg, our friends at Infor and Packet.com
and Graham Christensen for making this possible. ⌘ Read more
@metamurks@www.metamurks.org Also you can still MITM https with a locally trusted cert for the mitming instance like McAffe does in a lot of company proxies. I think this could also be used for caching proxies.
Bad idea of the day: A browser extension that links everything in your browser cache with a fake file whose name is a hash of that item, serves those fake files over bittorrent, and, for all URLs whose expiration date is in the future, keeps a distributed table of URL to hash & attempts to fetch from bittorrent before from http
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Now I see your tweets again. Maybe deleting the cache helped.
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Somehow I don’t see your tweets after 2018-03-16 in the client although i updated your url. @buckket@buckket.org a caching issue maybe?

We begin to get used to flood-caused Internet outages, but those bits of merfolknet that end up in search engine caches each time puzzle us
@kas@enotty.dk my bad - I’ve been developing a twtxt client, hence the frequent requests. I’m switching it over to use a fs cache for testing so I’m not hitting the twtxt files so much.
@kdave@kdave.github.io When you get timeouts, do all feeds timeout? Can you check if you can reproduce it when you flush your name server cache?
Does cat /proc/fs/xfs/stat | awk ‘/^ig/{print $1}’ == 0 really mean that i’m not using the inode cache?
@buckket@buckket.org Wow, did you add some cache? I can feel a difference
Hmm, looks like gist.githubusercontent.com is caching raw files -.-
@cloudfront is really not great at caching large pages. My miss ratio is ~75% for 1-yo static site with 2 yrs expire for pages.

Another Facebook rant
This one will be short, Twitter style… almost. A while ago I wrote about how Facebook has cached my OpenID credentials (wrong ones) and it was refusing to clear them after a few days. Well, twenty five (that is 25) days after, Facebook is still insisting on going to the wrong place, when I enter /bits/ as my OpenID on my “Settings → Account Settings → Linked Accounts → OpenID…”.
Now isn’t tha … ⌘ Read more

Facebook and OpenID caching
When I first read that Facebook was going to allow OpenID logins, I was happy. OpenID means less usernames and passwords to remember. So I merrily went to setup mine, just to find out that their support was exclusively for OpenID version 2.0, and my implementation was 1.1. No graceful fall back, Facebook demands OpenID 2.0. So I decided it was time for me to upgrade my implementation for one capable to handle 1.1 and 2.0.
Of course, the first one I tried I did not like it … ⌘ Read more
