@bender@twtxt.net In the end the cameraperson overtakes him again. But yeah, who knows with todayās AI crap everywhere.
@bender@twtxt.net haha yeah. heās never been free to roam the house when we are away, heās either with us - or in his big crate in our bedroom (heās not in there for long, just when he cannot be with us in the car etc). So itās going to be damn nice to have a safe place for him outside. We fenced our garden in last year, heās been there a lot when we are home, he loves it a lot (especially during winter). But we cannot have him there when weāre not home. But with the new dog yard thing - he can stay there without me worrying.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Yep, I use it all the time, too. Except for Go, where I use Ctrl+x+o for Go-specific completion. But Ctrl+n still comes in very handy for strings and the like. In fact, it scans all the open buffers for completion suggestions.
@stigatle@yarn.stigatle.no you mean, you donāt want the dog mauling everything in the house while you are away? š
I did it againā¦ #cm7e3ya #s4nbfta
I edited it because I started the line with 500.
, which the Markdown parser took as the start of an ordered list and made it number 1.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I do wonder that sometimes, but I try to take notes if Iām doing something complicated. Just a few lines in a text file with some context plus the command I used. ffmpeg.txt
comes in very handy.
@mckinley@twtxt.net Wow. And you never wonder: āWait, how did I do $thing
back then?ā Happens to me all the time. š³
@bender@twtxt.net My condolences. šš
Itās 500. I never changed it, so thatās the default of either Bash or my distro. Itās fine for me.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de indeed! We just landed in Los Angeles, and they are still at it!
@bender@twtxt.net Ah, so thatās the plane with the Brazilian women then. š Enjoy your stay!
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Iāll tell you in a couple of weeks. Currently on our way to Japan. š
@bender@twtxt.net To infinity and beyond? š¤ How large is it currently? history | wc -l
@movq@www.uninformativ.de mine is -1.
QOTD: How large is your shell history? No history, 500 lines, 10ā000, 100ā000, something else?
@prologic@twtxt.net having to go to search to read an older conversation is inefficient, unseemly, and an overall poor user experience. There has to be another way, right?
Well itās configurable, but by default it depends which gets filled up first. Time or Size.
@prologic@twtxt.net Oh, so the cache just goes back about a month? š¤
@prologic@twtxt.net Lol, god no š¤£
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Hda to look this up and after I had done so (successfully after some improvements to the search engine) I am convinced that this is the right path to go down in terms of āI want to see old stuffā š
@movq@www.uninformativ.de But can it hallucinate? š¤
Well, I missed the time window. Time flies, theyāre all grown up now. š¬
One great feature of Vim (and probably other editors) is ākeyword completionā: Type the beginning of a word, then press Ctrl-N and Vim will give autocompletion options by scanning all the words in the current file. For example, when I now type āauā and then Ctrl-N, it will suggest āautocompletionā.
This is so very useful when writing text / prose. Itās especially useful for German text with all those long words like āInformationssicherheitsbeauftragerā. I use this feature all time and I sorely miss it when Iām forced to use some other crappy editor. š©
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com it looks good, mate. All set! š
