Moderan reads like if dril was a battle-cyborg & tried to write his autobiography but kept on getting distracted by how COOL it is to PLASTIC-WRAP THE EARTH.
Read some excepts from a book I randomly found yesterday. While the writing was a little dry, I thought it could be an interesting read. However when I looked on Amazon, found out the book was 80 USD. I’m sorry but it was not that interesting.

Bad idea of the day: ‘twitch writes a novel’: the previous ~15 words are shown & the top ~20 next words based on a markov model of some corpus are voted on over a 2 minute period (going to the first item, if no votes are cast) until 50k words are written.

Hot take: if you can’t write a feature-complete proof of concept implementation of it in 100 lines, then there will never be a stable implementation, but if you can, then even 10k line implementations can be made stable.

Have you tried reading the manual? Have you tried writing the manual?
Writing long, overly complex, & logically flawed apologia of bad mainstream ideas in order to recast them as revolutionary is a growth industry. (See the ‘intellectual dark web’, whose major unifying trait is boringly normie positions.) Why not reach for a surreal or absurd take?

I’ve been shitposting about writing composable GUI systems with proper hypertext & network transparency in postscript but actually that existed at Sun & seems to have been pretty cool: https://medium.com/@donhopkins/hyperlook-nee-hypernews-nee-goodnews-99f411e58ce4

SOME PEOPLE HAVE POINTED OUT THAT WRITING APPS IN POSTSCRIPT IS SANE-ISH. THIS IS TRUE. IT’S HARD TO COME UP WITH COMPARABLE SITUATIONS THAT ARE MORE ABSURD, BECAUSE WE COLLECTIVELY DID THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING AND THEN CONVINCED OURSELVES IT WAS OK.
Web application design is like a generation of people looked at that text adventure written in postscript and said LETS WRITE ALL FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS IN POSTSCRIPT EMBEDDED IN SELF-MODIFYING LATEX DOCUMENTS FOREVER
