Automatic Komoot export
While I like Komoot and use it to navigate and record all my tours, whether that are bike tours or hiking trips, it sucks that there’s no option to export all your data. There’s also no official API to easily implement such functionality. ⌘ Read more

@prologic@twtxt.net I don’t think it’s your code. As you said in one of your commit comments, the internet is a hostile place! That’s partly why I reacted the way I did: all things considered it’s usually better to react quickly and clean up the mess later, then it is to wait and risk further damage. Anyway it sucks @xuu@txt.sour.is got caught up in it. Hopefully it’s all good now.

Streaming services can suck. Wanted to watch the classic Elf movie for a fun movie night, but somehow we were getting the message “This movie is not available in your region.”. Turns out we were looking for the wrong title.

Pinellas County - Long run: 11.54 miles, 00:10:09 average pace, 01:57:14 duration
kind of sucked. should have waited another day and gave my body an actual rest because my legs were tired as fuck. did the park-to-park route which was cool. the second park was cool because it had a lot of walkways and a neat tower thing so did a bit of tourist mode there. the last leg of the run was brutal and just did not have the motivation.

So.. Of y’all that had covid. Did you have at the end a night where for no reason your brain amped up to 11 and can’t sleep at all? It happened to me last night and my FIL the night before.

I went to bed at 8 and woke up full on anxiety attack at 12 and could not calm my head until around 7 am. Today has sucked a lot.

In-reply-to » (#7dxtvnq) @adi oh yeah, no doubt. I just like to keep an eye on these things because I hate being blindsided.

@prologic@twtxt.net yeah, it’s true. Thing is, Linux as a desktop operating system sucked in 1996 yet I adopted it then anyway because I wanted nothing to do with MS anymore 😆 I know it’s not for everyone but I’m pretty tolerant of a less-than-stellar experience if it means I can be free of big-company garbage.

I haven’t tried a Linux-based smartphone OS in a long time so I don’t have any idea how bad/good it might be. I figure when I finally break down and get a new phone I’ll experiment on my current phone.

In-reply-to » Erlang Solutions: Blockchain in Sustainable Programming The benefits of blockchain implementation across multiple sectors are well-documented, but how can this decentralised solution be used to achieve more sustainable programming?

@Planet_Jabber_XMPP@feeds.twtxt.net

The benefits of blockchain implementation across multiple sectors are well-documented

WTF are you talking about? The only thing well-documented about “the blockchain” is that it sucks and its primary use case is creating Ponzi schemes.

i finally learned how to make chicken scheme modules lol

i put off learning how to make chicken scheme modules since i got into chicken
scheme because the examples on the docs never worked for me. i think this was
because, from the best of my memory, i was trying to interpret a scheme file
that imported a module i made, but i hadn’t generated the object files for the
imported module. it kind of sucks … ⌘ Read more

vDSL2 sucks NBN sucks Copper sucks
It is continues to amaze me how NBN continues to operate. With over $50B AUD of taxpayer funds later (See NBN Project costs) folks like me that live in the suburbs continue to have less than ideal quality.

As of this post, I’m sitting on a vDSL2+ connection, with a Fibre to the Node backhaul, delivered by ~450m of Copper cable (last mi … ⌘ Read more

Linux Does Not Suck 2012
Watch now (21 min) | In 2012 I did two shows, “Linux Sucks” and “Linux Does Not Suck”, back-to-back at Linux Fest NorthWest. We had no good plan to record this show. Just winged it with a handheld camera in the audience. The first part appears to be lost to the sands of time. Luckily we still have a recording of the second part: “Linux Does Not Suck 2012”. ⌘ Read more
