@athanasia@twtxt.net The main problem is that I don’t front mbox.blue with my Edge infra that I front the rest of my infra with. So mbox.blue is kind of independent if that makes sense. It has nothing in front of it to protect anything. So I would just put a simple Caddy PoW at it’s reverse proxy and call it a day if that works for you? – I think I’ll make this per-box/per-user configurable too?

Both of these scenarios is mindboggling – imagine such a world:

What was also extremely surprising to me: I’m heavily afraid of heights, but looking down this giant hole wasn’t a problem at all. Not a single bit. Neither with the light turned off nor on. I really don’t understand it. I should have absolutely shitted my pants. The only thing was that I was really, really holding onto my camera because I was afraid that I accidentally drop it into the well. But other than that, absolutely nothing. Very weird. But I take it.

You should then be able to /join #lobby1 (a globally federated channel already across 2 instances so far). 🤞

I have (finally) built a fully e2e working purely decentralised and federated IRC-compatible chat server. It is currently a PoC, but it’s already working quite well. It’s inspired partly by the work we did with Salty Chat in terms of Discovery and Federation. Some screenshots of a normal IRC client irssi showing off how it works in a local e2e setup:

For the curious, this is fully documented with roleplay Alice/Bob. I was going to test this with @david@daiwei.me but we both got busy, but now I’m on holidays from work for a month so 🤷‍♂️ 🤣

Since earlier this year, I main a TCL phone, I got during a sale event, for under $150 and it really has pretty alright specs: 8GB RAM, recently updated to Android 16, 90Hz refresh rate, even the headphone jack, …
