While any vision of society is a spell to bring itself into existence, society, unlike computers, is wicked hard to program and code usually is the easier route
Where did all the utopias go? Well, nobody writes utopian novels anymore, but everybody writes utopian code
Since it’s friday, if I have the energy, after work I’ll stream my final push on finishing implementing MfoM. Y’know, in case anybody wants to watch me write ‘code’ that’s actually mostly dialogue.

Re: code – keep throwing it away and rewriting from memory until implementing it doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore. At that point, it might be marginally OK. (Or maybe you’ve just acclimated to your failures.)

‘Worse is better’ is not a justification – it is a tragedy, and one that folks who code in their free time are thankfully immune from needing to contribute to. So, y’know, don’t. You’re not on a deadline, so make something good, instead of something you regret.

Hot take: science fiction movies are extremely rare. Most films that are sold as science fiction are actually action-adventure with fantasy elements that are coded as scientistic.
Love it we have a “contract” developer but he is not in the right group to push commits to the code repo. When I suggested that he be added to the right group one of the other developers was like that will give him access to everything. I’m sorry but what is everything? It’s not like he can pull from any of the repos as it is. Right now he just can’t commit.
